A commercial service upgrade affects more than the panel enclosure. The existing service rating, available fault current, conductor sizes, metering, distribution arrangement, equipment ratings and connected loads all influence the scope. New HVAC, production equipment, tenant improvements, EV charging or electrification plans may require capacity that the present system was not designed to provide.

Depending on the property, work may include panelboards, feeders, disconnects, metering sections, distribution changes, grounding and equipment connections. Engineering, utility and permit responsibilities should be identified early where required.
